James D. Roos, AIA

James D. Roos attended the Pennsylvania State University from 1970 to 1975 and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. For two summers during college and following graduation, Jim started working his internship with George Anderson, Architect, a sole proprietor. Following ten years at this office, Jim sought a change in his career development and joined the firm of Ross Schonder Sterzinger Cupcheck P.C. in February of 1986.

Since then, Jim has worked closely with a variety of clients in all phases of architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration. His work with the firm encompasses various building types including religious, municipal, libraries, office and light manufacturing. A significant project for which he had responsibility from design through construction was an addition with renovations to an early twentieth century church for The Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon. This project, after almost two years of construction with 4 years of total involvement, won the award for craftsmanship from the Master Builder's Association in 1997.

Jim received his architectural registration in 1979 and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Jim is also an active member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in West View where he devotes his volunteer time to various committees at the church andthe parish school. He currently is involved in the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the parish's Marriage Preparation and Mentoring Program. He also has been a member of the McCandless Rotary Club since 1987, serving on the Board at two different times.
