For several years, RSSC has worked closely with North Hills
Community Outreach (NHCO) and their partner, the Borough of
Millvale, in developing schemes for the expansion and adaptive
re-use of this former school gymnasium/cafeteria building.
The existing multipurpose room will be upgraded, while new
lobby, service and office space will be added through a
combination of a "wrap-around" building addition and new floor
infill within the existing building enclosure. In keeping with the
socially-conscious spirit of the owners, the building is being
designed with sustainable materials and practices in mind,
starting with the re-use of as much of the existing building shell
as possible.
Completion is scheduled for the fall of 2006.
