In response to the changing needs of the congregation Holiday Park United Methodist undertook a
yearlong planning process. The resulting proposal added a large multipurpose room and new kitchen.
The new facility provides a dramatic presence on Cape Cod Drive with its strong vertical design
featuring a new flame and cross logo.
The addition provides facilities for church dinners,
regular sports leagues, youth activities, and the puppet ministry. A new youth room adjacent to the
multipurpose room provides a comfortable space for youth fellowship meetings and classes. The
kitchen features commercial equipment for serving up to 200 people.
Renovation and
expansion into a central courtyard provided a new nursery and doubled the size of the narthex. The
existing corridor was enlarged to provide access to the multipurpose room and the new centrally
located restrooms. A new lobby and covered entry serves functions occurring in the multipurpose
room.
Significant improvements were made to the site doubling the available parking and improving the
accessibility to the Church. The existing sanctuary was air-conditioned providing year round comfort
in the worship space. The roof of the existing building was replaced protecting the investment in new
and renovated spaces.
