A year after the First United Methodist Church of Sharon was gutted by fire, a new facility was being completed.
The present, 29,700 square foot, church combines traditional, such as towers similar to those on the former church,
with contemporary needs like modern office space and an elevator which provides handicap accessibility to the
upper floor.
Stained glass windows, saved from the original church, feature prominently in the 340 seat sanctuary located on
the ground floor. A seperate small chapel which seats 70 is also on the ground floor along with offices, a kitchen,
lounge area and a Fellowship Hall. The upper level houses a community assembly room and classrooms with room
to expand for future needs.
