St. Ferdinand Catholic Church located in Cranberry Township, Butler County was
dedicated in December of 1990. The 1,200 seat church is configured in a radial
pattern with a sloping nave floor to allow every parishioner an unobstructed view of
the sanctuary and altar area. The church sloping roof structure of laminated wood
arches radiating from a massive curved brick wall behind the altar. A smaller curved
brick wall with cut-out stained glass windows forms the eucharistic chapel to the
side of the main chancel area. The support spaces include a day chapel, also used
as a cry room at Sunday masses, a choir practice room, a nursery and a
skylighted narthex entrance.
