Stephen D. Cupcheck attended The Pennsylvania State University beginning in
1970 with a four-year State Senatorial Scholarship. For his spring term in 1975,
Steve traveled to Florence, Italy to study Architecture. Steve graduated from Penn
State University with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in June of 1975.
After his graduation, Steve spent a year working at The Kemp Group,
Landscape Architects and Planners in White Oak, Pennsylvania where he
performed architectural drafting. In 1976 he started working for Ross and
Schonder Architects as an Intern Architect and then as a Project Architect. He
received his Architectural Registration in 1978 from the State of Pennsylvania and
in 1988 Steve became a Principal in the firm of Ross Schonder Sterzinger
Cupcheck P.C.
With experience managing a wide variety of project types, Steve's specialties
include commercial and retail buildings, skilled care nursing facilities, municipal
and public buildings, churches and religious buildings, corporate office and
production buildings and restaurants. Steve has been a member of The American
Institute of Architects since 1980.
Steve is an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church as well as the
Hampton Rotary Club where he was a past president and currently serves as the
newsletter editor. He is currently a member of the Board of Management of The
Northern Area YMCA and a past Chairman. Steve is also a member of the Kilbuck
Township Zoning Hearing Board and The Avonworth Municipal Authority. Steve is
a former member and vice-president of the North Hills Affordable Housing Task
Force and Former President of The North Hills Community Outreach Center
Board.
Steve's personal life includes his wife of 26 years, Rachel, and his daughter
Lindsay, 20 and son, Wade, 12. His hobbies include both water and snow skiing,
basketball, bicycling, hiking and backpacking and his children's activities.
